Zoho Meeting Release Notes

Version -dbuild/Jan_10_2017

Redefining audio conferencing with VoIP

We are moving to the latest WebRTC technology for audio conferencing. Now you can add web audio to your meeting, allowing your participants to join the conference through the internet. No one has to spend the meeting uncomfortably stuck to their phone to hear what's going on. Web audio is compatible with the latest versions of Google Chrome, Firefox, and Opera.

Zoho Meeting and Zoho Assist are separate services now

Web meeting and remote support are now separate entities. You have to log in to https://meeting.zoho.com to start an online meeting and share your screen with your participants. To troubleshoot and assist your remote customers, log in to https://assist.zoho.com.

As a part of this, we have removed the remote support feature from Zoho Meeting desktop plugin for windows. You can download the Zoho Assist desktop plugin from https://assist.zoho.com/assist-setup and use it for your remote support and unattended sessions.

Calendar events get a new dimension

If you use a mail client that has mail-to-calendar integration (like Outlook, Zoho Mail, Gmail, or Yahoo Mail), your meetings will be automatically added to your schedule from the meeting invitation email. Your meeting participants can RSVP to your invitation, and you'll be notified that they're planning to attend. If you make updates to a meeting, they'll be reflected in your calendar too. So feel free to track your meetings from your calendar, knowing that you won't be missing any important information.

Multi-monitor support added to Mac OS

If you use multiple monitors, you can now choose which one you want to share with your meeting participants. We already offered this feature for Windows, and now you can use it with all versions of Mac OS too.

Upcoming and past meetings

We've tweaked the user interface in the web application to give you a better view of all of the meetings you've scheduled. Now you can focus on your upcoming meetings with a more streamlined view, and past meetings stay in their own section on the home page.

Screen sharing for macOS Sierra

The latest version of Mac OS is now completely supported for both the meeting presenter and the participants. The presenter and participant toolbars work like a charm, and you'll have an easy time hosting your meeting and sharing your screen from macOS Sierra.

ActiveX viewer is replaced with HTML viewer

Windows native toolbar for the participant (ActiveX viewer) is now replaced with the completely browser based HTML toolbar and your participants can join your meeting right from their browser itself without downloading any application.

Version 1.91, February 2015

Change Presenter available in Mac OS

Change Presenter is supported in Mac OS with this version. This works well for all OS combinations between Presenter and Participants, Mac to Mac or Mac to Windows. This feature supports all versions of Mac OS.

This version also includes some minor bug fixes.

Version 1.82, February 2015

Schedule a meeting right from your Zoho Calendar

You don't need to schedule a meeting in Zoho Meeting and jump to Zoho Calendar anymore to mark it there too. Create an event in Zoho Calendar, associate a meeting with the event and invite your participants. You can see the meeting details getting updated automatically in Zoho Meeting. Your invitations will reach through mail.

Windows DPI Scaling compatible

Your meeting participants might have viewed a big black patch along with your screen all these days if you would have set a DPI scaling in Windows OS. We have fixed this issue with this version. Starting now they can see the actual screen of yours even if you have set DPI scaling.

We have made significant speed enhancements and have added a couple of servers to ensure quick screen sharing. This version includes some minor bug fixes too.

Version 1.6, October 2014

Change Presenter made easier
'Change Presenter' functionality required downloading and installing an executable file every time, for all these days. Now it has been made easier.

You just need to download and install an executable file only for the first time. It prompts for 'Launch Application' henceforth and once you click on it, Participant screen gets changed to Presenter Screen automatically, without any installation.

Note: This works only in HTML 5 Viewer running in Google Chrome on WIndows OS.

No more Java plug-in
Participants don't need a Java plugin anymore on Windows OS (all versions) and Mac OS X, to join a session. Getting out of Java dependency makes the joining process much more easier.

Other Updates
'Resume Session' option which was available in Desktop Plugin, has been removed owing to improved security considerations.
Some bugs have also been fixed.

Version 1.5, May 2014

High Session Speed
Screen updates performance enhanced ( removed write & read debugging ).

HTML5 based Viewer
Completely web-browser based joining with zero installation for Meeting Participant has been implemented.
Change Presenter support added to HTML5 viewer.

Help Me!
Meeting Presenter can reach our support team with 'Help Me!' option, a live chat window, even during the session.

Version 1.1205, May 2012

We have introduced a new setting called 'Default participant mode' in the settings page. This setting provides with two options, namely 'View only' and 'View and Present'. Choose the appropriate setting depending upon the need to switch presenter in your meeting. This setting dynamically chooses the best technology to run the meeting session and thereby avoiding the need for the customer to choose the viewer. Click here to know more.

We have increased the screen quality and connection speed for the Mac OS. This will suit its higher resolution and enhanced graphics and to provide a better screen sharing experience.

The connection speed of the sessions have been remarkably improved with this update.

some bug fixes have also been made.
